The best way to start a day is to have a good, healthy and stomach filling breakfast. A delicious smoothie can be the ideal breakfast for you in the morning before rushing to your workplace. There are many reasons you will love to have a smoothie in the morning. Firstly, they are high in nutrition and do not add unnecessary calories to your body. Here is a simple yet delicious smoothie recipe made out of chia seeds. So, try this recipe and enjoy your breakfast.
Muesli - 1/4cup
Low fat milk / drinking water - 3tbsp
Soaked chia seeds - 1 tbsp
Banana (without skin) - 1 small (4 ounces)
Almond butter (toasted unsalted) - 1 heaped tsp
Honey - 1 tsp
Milk, yoghurt, almond
or soy milk, coconut water, rice beverage – 1 cup
Ice cubes (optional) - 1 or 2 cubes
Yield : Serves 1
Take the muesli in a small bowl and cover it with 3 tbsp water or milk. Refrigerate it overnight. Soak the chia seeds in a bowl and add 4tbsp water for each tbsp chia seeds. Refrigerate it overnight. The chia seeds will become gelatinous.
Each tbsp measure includes both, seeds and the gelatinous liquid.Take 1 tbsp of seeds and the gelatinous liquid in a blender. Add soaked muesli with the remaining liquid in the bowl. Add the other ingredients and blend the mixture into a smooth texture.
